Moe Myat May Zarchi Myanmar

Moe Myat May Zarchi is a filmmaker, a cultural practitioner and an audiovisual artist from Myanmar with practice spanning 10 years. Her works have been accoladed by Prince Claus Seed Awards for emerging artist and her films have been screened at Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Vienna Shorts, Uppsala Film Festival, Recontres International Paris/Berlin, Singapore International Film Festival, Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival and many more. Her latest short film “The Altar (2023)” won the ARTE award at Kurzfilm Hamburg and Best Audiovisual Short at Minikino Filmweek. Her latest working short film “Sad Diva Lands on the Moon” was granted by SGIFF short film grant and Purin Pictures. Moe also founded 3-ACT, a cinema organization that publishes cinema magazines and orgazines workshops and festivals. In her artistic practice, she explores the metaphysical reflections of personal journeys through the innovative use of visuals and sound. Moe has become a Berlinale Talent in 2024.
