NAY WUNN NI is a writer, director and producer. She started working as a freelance writer in TV Broadcasting. In 2019, she directed her first short film “Late Summer Day” which was selected in Wathann Film Festival 2020 and won Best Acting Award. Her feature film Script “City Birds” was selected in Myanmar Script Fund 2019 and won Short to Feature Award in 2021, she founded a film initiative called “Akhat Alat” which aim to support the creative freedom and bring out the personal voices from Myanmar’s young filmmakers. That film initiative leads to produce four short films which were screened at Asian Film Archive, Singapore 2022, SEA Independent Film Forum at National Chengchi University, Hong Kong and Minikino Film Week 2023 under S Express Myanmar Program 2023. In 2023 , she produced a short film named “Thirty” by Director Ei Mon Kyaw which won Yangon Film School Short Film Production Grant , Memory Short Film Grant and Post Production Fund. “Thirty” was premiered at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in India. In 2023, she made her 2nd short film “ We Missed A Sunset” as a part of 10 Years Myanmar Omnibus Film which was premiered at 28th Busan International Film Festival and recently screened at Singapore International Film Festival 2023.
