Heinz is a Fulbright filmmaker, currently doing his MFA in Filmmaking at New York Film Academy, Los Angeles. Heinz’s debut documentary short film “Missing Puzzle” premiered at Wathann Film Festival 2018, followed by his first narrative short film debut “A Blue-Sky” at Yangon Pride Film Festival 2019. His second narrative short, “Discretion” premiered at Wathann Film Festival 2020. His third narrative short, “1000 Loads” is notably the most provocative dark comedy, with political undertone, in recent Myanmar’s queer cinema.
He worked as an audio-visual officer (2020-2023) at a non-profit LGBTQ+ organization, producing interviews, campaign videos, podcasts, and facilitating annual film workshops for young queer filmmakers. His primary focus as a director is to tell queer stories and queer experiences. Utilizing his education background in business management, he likes to work as a producer for non-queer projects. He produced a short film, “The Unknown Infinity” directed by mauk khan wah.
